APT Returns to Newport World Resorts in Manila

Newport World Resorts in Manila, Philippines, will host the penultimate event of the Asian Poker Tour this year, which will be intense for 13 days and bring together some of the region’s heavyweights. The APT event is a precursor to the last APT event scheduled for December in Da Nang, Vietnam. Both parts of the competition have proven to be fascinating and valuable additions to the local poker calendar.

Asian Poker Tour Going at Full Speed Ahead

The next series of tournaments will consist of 41 events and will take place between November 15th and 27th. The Main Event takes place from November 17th to 22nd with a prize pool of $260,000 GTD. Newport World Resorts recently announced its name change to Resorts World Manila as part of its proposed separation from Genting Hong Kong. The IR also launched a new rewards program, Epic Rewards, which connects members with various retail and lifestyle partners based on their membership level.


In making the announcement, Jeff Mann, CEO of the Asian Poker Tour, said, “It’s so great to be back!” 

“Like many major live events we have had to pause for two years as we have already targeted at least 8 major events in Asia this year I am delighted and it is fitting that we are embarking on our post-Covid ‘Build Back Stronger’ campaign with our longtime partner Resorts World Manila,” said Mann. 

“Before the pandemic, RWM had plans to build the largest poker room in Asia,” added Hakan Dantas, executive vice president and head of gaming and marketing at Resorts World Manila. Our goal: to lead the initiative to make Manila the poker room capital of Asia.
