Caesars Windsor announced that it would open several sports betting kiosks inside the Poker Room on the main Skybridge entrance floor in November of last year. The casino in the Detroit–Windsor area announced the stalls in advance of the grand opening of the casino’s much-anticipated Sportsbook Lounge, which will take place shortly.
Now, finally, the state of Ontario has announced that it has opened the doors to its first full-service sportsbook, which was made possible by the launch of Caesars Sportsbook at the venue.
What Can Ontario’s Sports Aficionados Expect?
The new sportsbook is 1,618 square feet and has seven sports betting kiosks and three betting windows. The stalls can be found at the base of Skybridge, directly outside the poker room, and inside the new sportsbook.
The new sportsbook also features 22 large-screen High Definition LED TVs, comfortable seating, and state-of-the-art sound. Sports bettors can choose from a wide range of betting options 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including bets on soccer, professional football, baseball, basketball, car races, and hokey, among others.
All sports betting kiosks will provide detailed information, instructions for placing bets, and clear definitions of all sports betting terms.
Caesars Windsor’s president Kevin Laforet expressed their excitement to provide sports bettors with the opportunity to jump on the wagon and be introduced to the action happening in their favorite sports while enjoying “the thrill of single-event betting as part of our world-class resort experience.”
Big Names at the Opening Ceremony
Brian Masse, a member of Parliament for the New Democratic Party who represents Windsor-West, Drew Dilkens, the mayor of Windsor, and Grant Fuhr, a six-time All-Star who was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2003, were all present for the opening ceremony of the new sportsbook.
Fuhr was also a part of the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon and held the honor of making the initial wager. The Grant Fuhr Foundation has been given the money from the winnings.
Tandem Engineering Group, who also served as the project’s general contractor, collaborated with Artisan Construction to develop the sportsbook’s layout during the project’s design phase.
In addition, guests were allowed to sample a selection of Legends Sports Bar’s recently updated menu items during the grand opening. The Caesars for a Cause charity event was also held during the grand opening of the new sportsbook to fulfill the company’s mission of giving back to the local community. As a component of the event, Caesars Windsor Cares announced that it would donate $1 to The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County for each specialty menu item Caesar would order from the Drinks & Bites menu.
