The World Series of Poker (WSOP) and the GGPoker Network have announced that they will launch WSOP.ca, now available to Canadian players in Ontario, the first province to fully regulate sports betting and personal iGaming. The WSOP enters Ontario as a legitimate entity, officially licensed to conduct iGaming business.
Ontario Now Has Brand New Place to Play Poker
This will significantly expand the reach of the WSOP platform as their localized Canadian domain will focus on allowing players to play poker in various recreational and competitive formats. Players who already have GGPoker will need to head to WSOP.ca to review everything and transfer from one platform to another. However, verification is required before the transfer can take place.
The WSOP will also host events to celebrate the WSOP.ca website and platform launch. This includes the WSOP Ontario Online Circuit Series, which will feature 12 WSOP ring events and is already underway. WSOP rings are one of the poker community’s most coveted rewards, recognizing achievement and often accompanied by a nice prize to take home. WSOP and GGPoker bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu, a global brand ambassador, welcomed the opportunity to finally see the brand launch in Ontario after spending his childhood in Toronto.
He said he always dreamed of playing in the World Series of Poker, even as a kid in Toronto, something he quickly achieved during his tremendous poker career. However, to pursue his dreams, Negreanu had to move to Las Vegas to pursue his dream of continuing to play poker. Ontario fans can skip this, however, as they can now attend WSOP events online from their homes and compete for real WSOP rings and bracelets. “How cool is that,” Negreanu rhetorically in a press release.
Online poker accesibility:
Online poker players in Ontario can now play at WSOP.ca, a joint venture between the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and GGPoker. The online poker room WSOP.ca is fully regulated by iGaming Ontario and is available in Ontario. Players are currently playing. Ontario poker players who previously played online at GGPoker should migrate their accounts to the WSOP.
