GGPoker, the world’s largest poker room, has received a license to offer online gambling in Germany. The State Administration Office of Saxony-Anhalt, a regulatory body that currently licenses operators, allowed the NSUS-owned company to operate poker for the next five years.
GGPoker Receives a German License
Although Germany is known for its strict rules, it is still one of the largest betting markets in Europe, making it an attractive jurisdiction for many gambling companies. GGPoker, which has been offering online poker and iGaming for five years, wants to tap into this promising market and delight local customers with exciting poker games and tournaments. Poker room users can participate in games like Rush & Catch Poker, All-In or Fold, Flip & Go, Spin & Gold, Battle Royale, GGCare & GGCeers and many others. GGPoker has established itself as a leading poker room thanks to its commitment to poker and its connections to the global poker scene. For example, GGPoker is the official sponsor of the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas so that it can offer countless growth opportunities for professional players.
GGPoker also hosted the WSOP Online Main Event and the 2020 WSOP Main Event two years ago.
GGPoker Is Excited to Modernize German iGaming
As gambling news agency Gambling Insider reports, NSUS Germany’s Sven Stiel praised the German authorities for their constructive approach and said his team was pleased to work with them. Both innovative and of high quality and at the same time secure and offer excellent customer protection. GGPoker’s content is legally supported thanks to the license, so customers can feel safe playing with the company. Steel concluded that this was a “decisive step” towards modernizing the German iGaming market. GGPoker is constantly expanding its presence in the digital poker room.
In early October, the poker room teamed up with its former WSOP partner to launch WSOP.ca in Ontario, Canada. Thanks to this, provincial Canada customers can now play various competitive and recreational poker formats. GGPoker allowed customers to seamlessly transfer their existing accounts to the Canada-focused platform to make it easier for existing players. A month earlier, Yggdrasil, one of the largest developers of iGaming content, partnered with GGPoker and agreed to provide the poker room with its full range of games.
This demonstrated GGPoker’s willingness to go beyond poker and delight customers with diverse offerings.
Global Poker & iGaming Market:
GGPoker has been active in the global poker and iGaming market since 2017 and, according to the company, has become “the world’s largest poker room thanks to its innovative approach to poker”. As the official sponsor of the WSOP Las Vegas, GGPoker is “the direct link to the global poker scene,” according to the brand. In 2020, GGPoker hosted the world record-breaking WSOP Online Main Event and WSOP Main Event 2020. A year later, GGPoker won PokerListing’s Best Overall Poker Software award. And in 2022, GGPoker became the largest online poker room in the world and received the Online Poker Operator of the Year award at the SiGMA Americas Gaming Awards.
The operator offers a range of games and features such as Rush & Cash proprietary poker, All-In or Fold, Flip & Go, Spin & Gold, Battle Royale, GGCare & GGCheers, integrated betting platform, SnapCam video messaging, PokerCraft and Smart HUD, all designed “to improve player experience and make poker more fun than ever.”
